2026 Passport TrailSport is the most off-road capable Honda SUV ever; a production SUV will also compete with minimal modifications in a stock production class
Mint 400 is America’s oldest and most prestigious off-road race
The all-new 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport will make its racing debut this weekend in the iconic Mint 400, the oldest and most prestigious off-road race in America. The most off-road capable Honda SUV ever will take on the grueling 400-mile off-road challenge through the unforgiving desert conditions near the Nevada-California border on March 7-8, competing in both the Stock Production Truck and Unlimited Truck 2WD classes.

Honda Baja Passport Race Truck – Unlimited Truck 2WD Class
Powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 engine produced by Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), the Honda Baja Passport Race Truck features a new body with inspiration taken from the all-new 2026 Honda Passport. Key design cues drawn from the 2026 Honda Passport can be seen in the front fascia, hood, roof and side profile.

Making approximately 550 horsepower, HRC’s HR35TT 3.5-liter twin turbo engine uses the same block and cylinder heads as the production Honda 3.5-liter i-VTEC® V6. Additional, custom elements of the powertrain include an HRC-designed intake plenum and custom Engine Control Unit programming. The Honda Baja Passport Race Truck also features 24-inches of suspension travel in the front, 30-inches of travel in the rear and 40-inch tall tires.

The Honda Baja Passport Race Truck will compete in the top unlimited class, driven by professional HRC driver Ethan Ebert, who raced the Honda Ridgeline Race Truck during the 2024 off-road season.

The Honda Off-Road Racing program began in 2015 and has gone on to record 17 class victories in 40 races including a class win in the 2019 and 2023 Mint 400 and multiple victories in the Baja 500 and Baja 1000. The Honda Off-Road Racing Team and Baja Passport Race Truck will also compete in the Baja 500 and Baja 1000 later this year.

Stock Production Truck Class
The Passport TrailSport’s new rugged design and capability make it suitable for a Stock Production Truck entry, where minimal modifications are allowed. Chosen modifications for the stock production entry are 33-inch General Grabber X3 Tires, 3-Way adjustable coilovers, and improved powertrain cooling and air filtration. The Passport will be driven by Ohio-based Honda engineers, Andrew Shapiro, Jordan Guitar, Craig Ackerman and Thomas Accardo who race with the Honda of America Racing Team (HART) – a unique volunteer program run entirely by Honda associates throughout the United States.

To survive the harsh terrain the desert presents, HART members designed high strength skid plates, rock sliders and other underbody protection parts, which were manufactured with support from the Honda Auto Development Center fabrication department in Ohio. For safety, a roll cage, fuel cell, and racing seats have also been installed. The Passport’s production 3.5-liter V6 engine, 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and intelligent Variable Torque Management (i-VTM4) all-wheel drive system are unmodified for competition.

First run in 1968, the Mint 400 lays claim as the oldest off-road race in the United States and holds the reputation as one of the toughest courses in the sport. The 2025 edition of the event consists of four laps of an approximately 100-mile loop of desert terrain south of Las Vegas near the Nevada-California border.

The extreme conditions of the event will be monitored by HRC engineers to understand the performance of the Passport’s suspension in the highly demanding terrain, and advance development of HRC Performance Parts, a new HRC business announced at SEMA 2024.

2026 Honda Passport TrailSport
The new Passport TrailSport is the most off-road capable Honda SUV ever, with standard rugged features, including off-road tuned suspension, expanded all-wheel drive system capabilities, robust steel skid plates, bright orange heavy-duty recovery hooks, specially engineered all-terrain tires and more to get weekend adventurers even farther down the trail or up the mountain.

Based on the extremely rigid Honda light truck platform, the 2026 Passport is sportier and more engaging to drive, both on and off-road. The platform was engineered from the very beginning with the intention of giving TrailSport true off-road capabilities, thanks to a 72% increase in front lateral rigidity and a 50% increase in rear torsion rigidity.

The all-new suspension of Passport is fortified with stronger forged steel suspension arms and sturdy cast-iron knuckles. Thick steel skid plates protect the oil pan, transmission and gas tank from damage. Designed in collaboration with Honda Powersports engineers, the skid plates can support the entire weight of the vehicle crashing down on a rock.

To take the rugged capability and appearance of Passport even further, Honda engineers created the broadest line of Genuine Honda Accessories ever, including a variety of 18-inch wheels, an aluminum front scuff plate, robust rock sliders with stainless-steel plates, and a Full-Size Spare Kit.

Ford Pro’s electric E-Transit Custom, E-Tourneo Custom and enhanced range E-Transit feature as standard an innovative heat pump that can boost driving range in cold weather

Tech saves battery power by heating cabin using “free” energy even when temperatures outside drop far below freezing for up to 10 per cent more driving range

Patented Ford system uses vapour injection to boost heat pump performance

Early starts, late finishes and overnight shifts mean driving in sub-zero temperatures can remain a regular occurrence for hardworking businesses even into spring. Now, a patented Ford technology can help Ford Pro electric vehicles drive further between recharges so their owners can get more done in cold weather.

Fitted as standard to every Ford E-Transit Custom, 1 E-Tourneo Custom 2 and enhanced range E-Transit, 3 the company’s innovative Vapour-Injected Heat Pump (VIHP) technology provides an efficient way to warm the cabin by capturing heat energy from the air outside – even at temperatures far below -10°C.

Heating the cabin by capturing “free” energy reduces the battery power consumed to keep drivers warm and comfortable – meaning more energy in the battery for getting the job done.

During testing in real world and sophisticated laboratory environments, Ford engineers found the technology could improve the enhanced range E-Transit’s driving range between 7 per cent and 10 per cent when compared with a vehicle without a heat pump.

“For business that use vans, every kilometre travelled between top ups means less downtime and more money earned. We’re chasing every kilometre to maximise efficiency and make electric fleets more productive and cost-effective for hard-working businesses,” said Ingo Krolewski, supervisor, Climate Attribute and Controls, Ford.

Maximising range and year-round cabin comfort

Heat pumps are a popular, energy-efficient method for heating homes, offices and – more recently – electric vehicles. They use very cold refrigerant gasses to absorb heat from the environment and then compress those gasses to raise their temperatures. This way, a small amount of electrical energy to power the heat pump can be used to extract a larger amount of “free” heat energy.

Ford’s patented VIHP offers greater benefits than other designs of heat pump by using vapour injection to help improve efficiency when both heating and cooling a van’s interior. When temperatures outside rise above 25°C, the pump’s integrated cooling system can also pull heat out of the cabin – reducing the battery power needed to run the van’s air-conditioning.

Nearly two years of fine-tuning involved more than 100 wind tunnel tests and 25,000 kilometres of real-world evaluation for each model. Seven dedicated test trips included conditions as diverse as the heat of a Spanish summer to a -34°C Finnish winter.

Development was a collaborative effort between Ford engineering teams in the UK, Germany and the US.

According to MotorTrend, “José Muñoz steps into the history books as the first non-Korean to lead the conglomerate that includes Hyundai and Genesis… (and) has been a driving force, leading Hyundai through years of record growth in North American sales, market share, revenue, and profitability. Muñoz has more than earned his top spot on our Power List, and he shows no signs of slowing down or making major missteps.”

The 2025 MotorTrend Power List also includes Euisun Chung, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair (who was named Person of the Year in 2023); SangYup Lee, Hyundai Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai and Genesis Global Design; Luc Donckerwolke, Hyundai Motor Group Chief Creative Officer; Claudia Márquez, Hyundai Motor America Chief Operating Officer and Karim Habib, Head of KIA Global Design and the KIA Design Center.

It’s a great time to be with Hyundai!”

MotorTrend continued,” The Hyundai brand, known initially for value and affordability, has matured and is now associated with quality, good value, and enough cachet and gravitas to warrant adding the Genesis luxury division. We’ve been so impressed with the group’s contemporary offerings in recent times that we named the Genesis GV70 the 2022 MotorTrend SUV of the Year and the Hyundai IONIQ 5 our 2023 SUV of the Year.”

Under Muñoz’s leadership, Hyundai has achieved consecutive record results which helped its parent Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) grow to be the third largest automaker in the world.
Muñoz has helped lead a product renaissance for the Hyundai and Genesis brands as evidenced by increasing sales, market share, dealer profitability and industry accolades. He has also led massive capacity expansion in the U.S. and globally, including a $12.6 billion investment in a new HMG assembly plant and two battery joint ventures in Georgia, as well as capital investments in Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, the company’s Safety Test and Investigation Lab in Michigan and its North American headquarters in California.

On the back of its strong fourth place finish in Fuji, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies aims to end the season on a high at the 8 Hours of Bahrain

Having completed two races and several test sessions in Sakhir, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies is very familiar with the Bahrain International Circuit (5.412km)

Immediately after the 8 Hours of Bahrain, Théo Pourchaire and Clément Novalak will experience driving the PEUGEOT 9X8 for the first time during the Rookie Test

Team Peugeot TotalEnergies and the PEUGEOT 9X8 2024 obtained their best result of the season at the 6 Hours of Fuji (Japan). The no. 93 car (Jensen/Müller/Vergne) was fourth overall and the no. 94 car (Di Resta/Duval/Vandoorne) finished eighth, as the team produced a fine collective effort to claim a double top-ten finish.

“It was a richly deserved result given the effort put in by the team and it will inevitably have a positive impact on morale for Bahrain,” commented Olivier Jansonnie, Peugeot Sport Technical Director. “We proved that we were capable of doing great things.”

Team Peugeot TotalEnergies therefore heads into the final round of the 2024 FIA WEC season with moderate ambitions. “Our aim is to reproduce the form we showed in Fuji and have a little more race pace so we can fight for a podium spot. We know the Bahrain event well. It’s one of the longest races of the season, partly contested after dark and it’s really hot, so it will be tough for the drivers, the cars and the tyres because the racing surface is highly abrasive. ”

PEUGEOT has already contested the 8 Hours of Bahrain twice before and has taken part in various test sessions at the Bahrain International Circuit (5.412km). The PEUGEOT 9X8 have completed some 1,739 laps – or 9,500 kilometres – at the track since 2022, “excluding the tests held organised by Michelin in 2023 during which we tested using the new tyre dimensions,” continued Olivier Jansonnie.

“For sure, this going to be the first time on the Sakhir track for the 2024 version of the PEUGEOT 9X8 and it’s never easy to prepare for the 8 Hours of Bahrain whilst in Europe, but we do have some experience on this circuit and of the car.”

There is a 45-day break between the final two rounds of the 2024 season. Following the 6 Hours of Fuji, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies ran a test session to prepare for the final race as well as the 2025 season. “We have already started thinking about next year’s FIA WEC and we are testing various technical solutions on the PEUGEOT 9X8.”

The 8 Hours of Bahrain are due to start on Thursday 31 October with two free practice sessions, followed by a third session, qualifying and the Hyperpole session on 1 November. The final race of the 2024 FIA WEC will get underway on Saturday 2 November at 2pm local time (12.00pm CET). The day after the race, on Sunday 3 November, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies will take part in the Rookie Test with Théo Pourchaire and Clément Novalak both driving the PEUGEOT 9X8.

Paul di Resta (no. 94 PEUGEOT 9X8)

“We have raced twice before in Bahrain. Admittedly, that was with the previous PEUGEOT 9X8 but we have a lot of data that should help us at the start of the weekend. There has been a long break between Fuji and Bahrain, so we have had time to run some tests, especially focused on 2025. We have been thinking about next season since the end of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. There is a lot of development to do but the whole team is really motivated and working hard to make progress.”

Mikkel Jensen (no. 93 PEUGEOT)

“I’m ready for the final race of the season. Since the last round in Fuji, I have raced in the United States and have kept working on the simulator and my physical preparation and so on to be 100% for Bahrain. After having a good race in Japan, we want to finish this season on a high and then make a strong start to the 2025 season. We have already started focusing on next year. It will be a new start for the team.”

Malthe Jakobsen

“I’m going to be meeting up with the team in Satory for a day on the simulator before then working on videos and data. I’ll be with the team throughout the weekend in Bahrain, where I will be able to attend team briefings, etc. I’m going to learn a lot. My goal is to prepare as effectively as possible for my first race with the team, next year in Qatar.”

The 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season ends this week with the 8 Hours of Bahrain (30 October-2 November). Alpine…

The 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship season ends this week with the 8 Hours of Bahrain (30 October-2 November).

Alpine Endurance Team will conclude the learning campaign for its A424 Hypercar with reshuffled crews: Paul-Loup Chatin, Jules Gounon and Ferdinand Habsburg in the #35; Charles Milesi, Matthieu Vaxiviere and Mick Schumacher in the #36.

The A-arrow brand enters the final round in fourth place in the Hypercar World Endurance Manufacturers’ Championship.

Launched in February in Qatar, the 2024 FIA WEC season returns to the Middle East for the final round in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This eighth and final race of the calendar will also close the first campaign of the A424, the Hypercar with which Alpine Endurance Team returned to the premier category. Nearly two months after their first podium finish, Les Bleus will continue their learning process in all areas to extract their full potential in the future and will approach this meeting with reshuffled crews.

Nicolas Lapierre, appointed Alpine Endurance Team Sporting Director from 2025 onwards, will familiarise himself with his future duties at this race. For ergonomic reasons, Charles Milesi will replace him alongside Matthieu Vaxiviere and Mick Schumacher. Reserve driver Jules Gounon will make his fourth start this year, joining Paul-Loup Chatin and Ferdinand Habsburg in the sister car.

The two trios aim to do everything possible to shine on the Bahrain International Circuit. The 5,412-metre track, renowned for its tyre-demanding surface and the hazards created by the desert sand surrounding it, will evoke fond memories for Alpine Endurance Team. In 2015, Alpine secured its first world LMP2 pole position at Sakhir before doing so again the following two years. The A-arrow brand also scored a podium in 2016 and three more overall in 2021 and 2022.

Evaluating the various Michelin tyre compounds during free practice will be even more crucial than usual. It will be carried out in collaboration between engineers and drivers in parallel with the work on set-up, fuel consumption, and driving times, which are three crucial subjects due to the atypical eight-hour format of this event.

The action gets underway on Thursday before qualifying and hyperpole on Friday. The race will start on Saturday at 2 pm local time (noon CET). During the stints, the competitors will face the challenge of decreasing light and temperatures as they move further into the night. After the finish, the team will remain on-site on Sunday for the Rookie Test, where Jules Gounon and Victor Martins will share the driving duties.

To follow the 8 Hours of Bahrain, go to www.fiawec.com.

Philippe Sinault, Team Principal Alpine Endurance Team
“The challenges of the Bahrain 8 Hours are well known. Tyre degradation, both at the rear and on the left-hand side, will be one of the main concerns. We’ll have to find the best compromises to ensure we perform well throughout our stints and, what’s more, over an event that’s longer than usual and marked by big variations in temperature between day and night, which should pave the way for less conventional strategic choices. We aim to validate what we’ve learnt from previous races and its relevance in Bahrain. We saw some great things in Austin and Fuji, but everyone in the team is aware of the work that remains before we embark on an intense off-season behind the scenes to prepare for the 2025 season. Bahrain will be an interesting step in that direction.”

Timetable (CET)

Thursday 31 October

10:15-11:45: Free Practice 1

15:30-17:00: Free Practice 2

Friday 1 November

10:00-11:00: Free Practice 3

14:40-14:52: Hypercar Qualifying

15:00-15:10: Hypercar Hyperpole

The first hyper gran turismo shooting brake with exposed-structure carbon body in BRABUS history High-end all-wheel hybrid drive with BRABUS 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 increased-displacement engine, and electric motor on the rear axle 735 kW / 1,000 hp system output and 1,820 Nm torque 0 – 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, 0 – 300 km/h in 23.6 seconds Extravagant BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior design

The BRABUS Collection 2025 fascinates with a new ultra-exclusive highlight: The BRABUS ROCKET GTS is built in a limited edition and represents a new jewel of the art of coachbuilding.

For the first time in its history, BRABUS produces the shooting brake body of the new supercar with a width of 198.5 centimeters (78.1 in) entirely from especially light yet high-strength exposed-structure carbon. This huge output is generated by the perfectly matched combination of a BRABUS ROCKET 1000 4.5-liter eight-cylinder, twin-turbo increased-displacement engine and an electric motor.

Thanks to the electronically controlled all-wheel drive, this high-performance combination catapults the BRABUS ROCKET GTS from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds. The supercar hits the magic mark of 300 km/h (186 mph) after only 23.6 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 317 km/h (197 mph).

The design of the BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior, for which the company upholstery shop processed the finest leather, Alcantara and carbon with consummate workmanship, is just as exclusive as that of the vehicle body.

BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone + 49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, www.brabus.com) offers the new ROCKET GTS at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting at 789,000 euros (price in Germany excluding 19 percent VAT).

Extravagant supercars have been the outright domain of the German luxury mobility brand ever since BRABUS was founded in 1977. In addition to a host of unique luxury products, it was above all the high-end coachbuilding division of the company that made worldwide headlines last year with custom-developed body designs with four or even six drive wheels.

In the BRABUS ROCKET GTS the German luxury manufactory has developed a spectacular hyper gran turismo shooting brake for the BRABUS Collection 2025 with a body produced entirely from exposed-structure carbon. The perfect marriage of form and function has been the specialty of the BRABUS designers for decades. They are renowned around the globe for a sophisticated and tasteful design idiom in line with aerodynamic and technical function. Every detail of the new BRABUS ROCKET supercar was developed using state-of-the-art CAD technologies and CFD modeling and then thoroughly optimized in the wind tunnel in order to offer the discriminating clientele of the luxury brand a totally new level of MASTERPIECE luxury.

Entirely in keeping with the BRABUS style, the whole vehicle body is made from especially light yet high-strength carbon. All components are produced in an autoclave using the prepreg process. This high-tech process benefits not only the strength but also the flawlessly smooth surface of all components. In order to achieve the desired cutting-edge look, all components are finished with a high-gloss sealer.

The aerodynamics play a crucial role for a vehicle as fast as the BRABUS ROCKET GTS. To this end, all bodywork components at the front and rear must be perfectly shaped and matched. The optimal balance of the aerodynamic downforce at the front and rear axle guarantees outstanding handling stability also at speeds north of 300 km/h (186 mph). Just as essential is the supply of cooling and combustion air to all power units by means of efficient air intakes and vents.

The BRABUS ROCKET front fascia creates perfect transitions to the wider front fenders. In addition, the integrated spoiler reduces front-axle lift at high speeds. The large air intakes route the airflow to the radiators and front brakes.

The exposed-structure carbon rocker panels transition into the BRABUS ROCKET quarter panels, whose dynamically curved wheel arches give the new BRABUS supercar its unique profile and make it 198.5 centimeters (78.1 in) wide.

This creates space for the BRABUS Monoblock P rims with five spokes and center-lock styling. They were custom-designed for this 2+2-seater and are produced using state-of-the-art forging and machining technology. These wheels fascinate with their perfect combination of lightweight construction and strength. In another hallmark BRABUS fusion of form and function, the exposed-structure carbon aeroblades integrated into the wheels amplify the unmistakable 1-Second-Wow effect of the hyper GT and use the rotation of the rims to extract the air heated by the brakes as efficiently as possible from the fender wells.

The wheel sizes are equally extraordinary as the design. Under the wide front fenders are rims of size 10.5Jx21 with 275/35 ZR 21 SportContact 7 high-performance tires from technology partner Continental. Rims of size 12Jx22 with 335/25 ZR 22 tires on the rear axle put the combined power of ICE and electric motor onto the road.

The rear end is formed by the BRABUS ROCKET fascia with integral exposed-structure carbon diffuser, which perfectly showcases the four titanium tailpipes of the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system. The tailpipes feature red lighting and are wrapped in exposed-structure carbon. But a striking look is not the only strong point of the diffuser: in concert with the combination of the BRABUS rear hatch spoiler and the ducktail spoiler integrated below the window, a union that was perfected in the wind tunnel, it plays a part in increasing rear downforce.

The high-end hybrid system with BRABUS eight-cylinder increased-displacement engine and electric drive together with the thrillingly styled body makes the BRABUS ROCKET GTS an absolute highlight in the long and successful supercar history of the luxury brand. Thanks to perfect synchronization, the two power units produce a combined system output of 735 kW / 1,000 hp (986 bhp). Even more breathtaking is the aggregated peak torque of 1,820 Nm (1,342 lb-ft). This figure is limited electronically in the vehicle to 1,620 Nm (1,195 lb-ft) to protect the drivetrain components of the shooting brake.

The part of the powerful internal combustion engine in this hybrid drive is assumed by the BRABUS ROCKET 1000 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is built in the high-tech engine shop of the German luxury manufactory. The new increased-displacement engine produces a peak output of 585 kW / 796 hp (785 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft), which is limited to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) in the vehicle.

The power of the ICE is transmitted by a nine-speed sports transmission, which can be shifted automatically or manually with the carbon paddle shifters on the steering wheel. It sends the power optimally to all four wheels via an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system. BRABUS trusts in technology partner MOTUL exclusively to supply the high-tech lubricants for the ICE and the drivetrain.

The rear axle integrates the electric drive unit with a permanently excited synchronous motor producing 150 kW / 204 hp (201 bhp), an automatically shifted two-speed gearbox and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 6.1 kWh.

The perfect matching of these two drive systems was achieved in comprehensive series of tests on stationary test benches and all-wheel-drive rolling roads at the BRABUS Development Center in Bottrop and in extensive road tests on public roads and various racetracks. These enormous efforts not only served to optimize the performance, but also to meet the strict EURO 6D ISC-FCM emissions standard, which is binding for an EU type approval.

Its outstanding driving performance puts the new BRABUS ROCKET GTS squarely among the sportiest hybrid cars in the world. From rest, the new supercar sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds and hits 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 9.5 seconds. Only 23.6 seconds pass between the start and the supercar breaking through the magic mark of 300 km/h (186 mph). The top speed is electronically limited to 317 km/h (197 mph).

Of course, the emotions were also at the very top of the performance specifications for the new hybrid supercar. The internal combustion engine exhales through a BRABUS high-performance exhaust system with special high-performance catalysts and particulate filters. This exhaust system optimizes the performance and features actively controlled butterfly valves to enable the driver to choose between a subtle “Coming Home” whisper and a markedly powerful and sporty V8 exhaust note.

A real supercar from the Bottrop luxury manufactory also includes an ultra-exclusive and perfectly finished BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior, of course. Owners of a ROCKET GTS can choose from a huge range of colors, materials and designs for this purpose.

Matching the exposed-structure carbon bodywork of the new supercar, the BRABUS master upholsterers used especially soft and durable “Slate Gray” leather to upholster the seat center sections, door panels, dashboard, steering wheel and center console. The headliner, the A- and C-pillars, parts of the instrument panel and the upper sections of the door panels were covered with Alcantara. The same material, deep black for this supercar, is also found on the side sections, backs and head restraints of the seats.

Prime examples of the hallmark BRABUS attention to detail are the light gray decorative seams and the quilting in BRABUS shell pattern design applied with pinpoint precision on the seat surfaces, parts of the door panels and the center console. This extravagant quilting also adorns the leather floor of the cockpit, luggage compartment, all floor mats and the trunk liner. The hallmark BRABUS “Double-B” is embossed repeatedly on the seat surfaces as well.

Like in every BRABUS supercar, a host of details perfectly integrated into the design of the interior of the new ROCKET GTS emphasizes the exclusive character of the vehicle. Matching the exposed-structure carbon bodywork, the crew is welcomed by carbon scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo. The same high-end composite material was used to produce the pedals, steering wheel rim, door handles and parts of the center console.

All trim in the cockpit plus the switches, air vents, speaker grilles and bezels feature matte BRABUS “Shadow Gray” glazing. ROCKET GTS logos on the passenger side of the dashboard, on the seat side sections and the front seat belts add further unmistakable highlights.

The BRABUS ROCKET GTS is built to order in a limited edition according to the future owner’s personal wishes.

Very fast riders and new lap records

“Yesterday, with the track still to be rubberised, in FP David Alonso dropped below the track record lap, improving it by more than 1.3 seconds; the same result was obtained by Aron Canet in Moto2 in P1 in the afternoon and then greatly improved by Ai Ogura in P2 this morning. The riders were very fast right from the start, even if the track offers a quite low grip, and this condition usually worsens in the afternoon, when asphalt temperatures rise by up to 15 degrees compared to morning sessions, making the track more slippery. This explains why in today’s qualifying, despite the evolving track’s conditions, and with higher temperatures than in the morning, the riders only got very close to the lap record, without improving it. With such a surface, even though not especially abrasive but with a poor grip, soft compounds are undoubtedly the most suitable, which is why they have been the most used so far and will also be for tomorrow’s races, where in all likelihood all Moto2 riders will choose soft SC1 for the front and soft SC0 for the rear. And Moto3riders will mostly opt for SC1 – which is the softest solution for this class – on the rear wheel, while the choice on the front axle will depend – as usual – on individual riding style and preferences”.

· Soft compounds, SC1 on the front wheel and SC0 on the rear wheel, were widely used on these first two days. Few riders tried the medium SC2 front or medium SC1 rear and, mostly, they did so in the first session, Friday’s FP.

· Japanese Ai Ogura (MT Helmets-MSI/Boscoscuro) took pole position with a time of 1’34.728, just over the 1’34.595 he set in P2, which earned him a new all-time lap record with an improvement of 7 tenths on the time set last year by Pedro Acosta (1’35.297).

· On medium SC2 front and soft SC1 rear tyres, David Alonso (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team/CFMOTO) was the fastest rider ever, dominating both Friday sessions and setting a new all-time lap record in 1’40.544 in the FP session, over 1.3 seconds faster than the time set by Deniz Öncü in 2023. · The morning sessions – i.e. FP on Friday and P2 on Saturday – took place with 36°C of asphalt temperature and just under 30°C of air temperature, while in yesterday afternoon’s P1 there were 53°C on the track.
As the 2024 WorldSBK season closed in Jerez, Puccetti Kawasaki celebrated one phase of their prestigious history closing while continuing preparations for a new era in both WorldSBK and WorldSSP. Campaigning former KRT WorldSBK Ninja ZX-10RR machinery in 2025, the team will field Garrett Gerloff in a single rider official Kawasaki team taking their presence in the WorldSBK paddock to a new level.

Joining the post-season test at Jerez on 22 and 23 October, this will be the first public outing for Gerloff on his new Ninja machinery while the Puccetti Kawasaki team adjust to their new responsibilities.
Those duties for the coming season also extend into the familiar realm of WorldSSP for the Reggio Emillia based team who will focus their upcoming campaign on the new 636cc version of the Ninja ZX-6R which has been recently submitted to the FIM for race homologation.
Having already created two WorldSSP Champions and taken over 120 podiums, the team welcome their new challenge with confidence and an understandable degree of serious intent as team principle, Manuel Puccetti explains.
“It is hard to put into words how the whole team feel about being chosen to run Kawasaki’s official Ninja attack in WorldSBK. Of course, are honoured, but we also know the level of expectation that Ninja fans worldwide will have. It is a huge responsibility, and we take it extremely seriously. We hosted representatives from Kawasaki Motors Corporation and Kawasaki Motors Europe at Jerez, and they reinforced what an opportunity we now have. We are using the post season tests to re-focus on every layer of the team structure and make any necessary fine tuning so that we can mount an effective challenge in two important World Championships. The time is right for a new dawn in our long history, and we are making ready to take our Kawasaki story to the next level in 2025.”

This week marks the fifth edition of the BMW Ladies Championship. The only tournament on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour held in South Korea has become a fixed highlight in the season calendar and offers a prize fund of 2.2 million US dollars. The event features a compact field of 78 players, all of whom will compete across all four days, as there is no cut in this tournament making the quality of the field even higher. 68 world-class golfers will tee off, along with eight high-profile tournament invites and two Korean amateurs.

The defending champion is Minjee Lee from Australia, who claimed the title last year in a playoff against Alison Lee (USA) at the Seowon Valley Country Club. This year’s BMW Ladies Championship will again be held at the same venue, one of the most spectacular golf courses in the country, located about an hour’s drive from the capital, Seoul. South Korean golf fans can look forward to not only the unique BMW tournament experience, for which the premium car manufacturer is known at its golf events worldwide, but also an impressive line-up of stars.

Amongst them are the two athletes who made a major impact at the Olympic golf competition in August: New Zealander Lydia Ko, winner of the 2022 BMW Ladies Championship, who completed her Olympic medal collection in Paris, and Esther Henseleit, who secured silver with a brilliant final round and became the first-ever golf medalist for Germany. Additionally, almost the entire top ten of the women’s world golf rankings will be present, with the only absentees being Nelly Korda (USA), who had to withdraw due to injury, and 2021 BMW Ladies Champion, Jin Young Ko (KOR). Aside from Korda, all major champions of the year will be competing: Ko (The Women’s Open), Yuka Saso (JPN, U.S. Women’s Open), Amy Yang (KOR, Women’s PGA Championship), and Ayaka Furue (JPN, The Evian Championship).

Among the eight tournament invites are four additional major champions: Danielle Kang (USA) and Korean players Jeongeun Lee, Eun-Hee Ji, and Jiyai Shin, the most successful golfer from Korea. The 36-year-old has won a total of 64 professional tournaments across six different tours, including the Women’s Open twice (2008, 2012), and will surely be celebrated by fans at her home tournament.

The BMW Ladies Championship made its debut in 2019 at the LPGA International Busan, where the second edition was also held two years later, before moving to the Oak Valley Country Club in 2022. The Seowon Valley Country Club was, and remains, the venue for the 2023 and 2024 tournaments. The competition will be played on the Seowon Hills Course, a par-72 course, playing 6,666 yards (6,095 metres) this week.
